Xbox Live’s games with Gold have, in my opinion, been better than the ones offered by the competition lately – at least where value is concerned. Many have been asking for AAA retail games to be part of the games packages that come as part of the Instant Games Collection and Games With Gold. Microsoft’s been delivering. This month, subscribers could download Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments, along with Lords of the Fallen.
Microsoft hinted that April’s might be better – so there’s a great deal of expectation. Rumors have suggested that Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us would be part of the games collection, and those rumours are right – but it’s the second game that’ll win subscribers over.
Xbox One owners will be able to download Sunset Overdrive from mid April – getting access to Insomniac Games’ Xbox One exclusive action game – that’s a bit like Ratchet And Clank mixed with Tony Hawk.
On the Xbox 360 (and Xbox One through Backwards Compatibility) you’ll be able to download one of the finest Survival Horrors ever made; Dead Space. You’ll also get to download Saint’s Row IV, letting you live out your superhero fantasies.
- “The Wolf Among Us”: Available from April 1-30 on Xbox One
- “Sunset Overdrive”: Available from April 16-May 15 on Xbox One
- “Dead Space”: Available from April 1-15 on Xbox 360
- “Saints Row IV”: Available from April 16-30 on Xbox 360
That’s a pretty damned good month, I think. I sincerely hope Sony has something interesting for PlayStation fans in April.

The Wolf Among Us sits firmly in my personal top 10 games of all time. Such a cool story. But looking at my top 10(or rather the ones that I can think of now that should be there) it seems that my favourite games are story games. Give me a great story and I can forgive just about anything. Keep me wanting more of the story and I can sit for 10 hours in one go and play your masterpiece. Lack in the story department and I just won’t finish it.
Also well done to Microsoft. That is two months in a row with very good games on the list. (Sunset Overdrive isn’t really my cup of tea. The story is ridiculously bland, they know it and plays to it but I can still not play the game anymore)

This is the second horrible month in a row for GWG. SSO is a grindfest, it’s is fun and that’s about it. There are Indie games better than April’s free games and Sony will confirm that soon.
