World of Warcraft Legion

Have you pre-ordered World of Warcraft’s upcoming expansion, Legion? No? YOU ARE NOT PREPARED! Right, now that the obligatory Illidan reference is out of the way, let’s get on with it.

Remember a couple of weeks ago, there was a pre-expansion update for the MMO? It featured some nifty system changes, quality of life improvements, and more.

But there was not a Demon Hunter in sight for those who pre-ordered Legion.  All they had to help them sleep at night was the knowledge that the new class would be out sometime in August, but no later than the 17th.

The wait won’t be that long thankfully. Blizzard have now finally come out and made the official announcement. It looks like the new Demon Hunter class will be available a just over a week earlier, from August the 9th.

Remember though, this only applies to those who’ve pre-ordered the expansion. Everybody else will have to wait a little longer, until the official release date of August 30th.

If you’re still on the fence about coughing up for early access or not, here’s a bit more about the Demon Hunter which might persuade you to take the plunge:

Demon hunters, disciples of Illidan Stormrage, uphold a dark legacy, one that frightens their allies and enemies alike. The Illidari embrace fel and chaotic magics—energies that have long threatened the world of Azeroth—believing them necessary to challenge the Burning Legion. Wielding the powers of demons they’ve slain, they develop demonic features that incite revulsion and dread in fellow elves.

  • Tank: The chaotic energy that flows within Demon Hunters gifts them with unparalleled durability.
  • Melee Damage: Demon Hunters can double jump, vault in and out of combat, and unfold their monstrous wings, surprising enemies from above with devastating attacks.
  • Metamorphosis: Demon Hunters transform into hellish forms, enhancing their chosen role: damage-focused Illidari can teleport into combat, while those who prize defense can grant powerful supportive Auras.
  • Spectral Sight: The Demon Hunters’ apparent blindness belies their true powers of perception. They rely on magically augmented sight to detect enemies, even those that hide behind obstacles.

Personally, I think the class looks really cool. Don’t take my word for it though, I’ve only reached like… level 10 in WoW!

What about you? Are you excited for the expansion? ARE YOU PREPARED FOR IT?
