LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHIN’ BROTHER! WWE 2K15 is going to be the prettiest looking WWE game since Vince McMahon finally convinced Rikishi to start wearing pants to the ring, but it’s going to need more than good looks in order to succeed. True, it has that whole rivalry angle that forms the backbone of the game. But this year, we’ll also have access to a proper career mode as well.
Going from boot camp to the main event, WWE 2K15 will allow players to take their custom-made wrestlers from rookie to champion in the series’ first “comprehensive, career-driven mode”, according to 2K. If you’re a baller in 2K’s NBA games, then the mode might be familiar to you.
Your custom creation will start the game off at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, where head coach Bill DeMott wil teach you how to execute some rasslin’ , with your superstar eventually moving on up to the NXT roster and then eventually securing themselves a locker room position in the main WWE line-up and performing on shows such as Smackdown and RAW. And of course, the pay-per-views that bookend each month before ascending to the showcase of the immortals, Wrestlemania.
The only downside to this mode, is that you have to take orders from the general manager. Who happens to be Vickie Guerrero. EXCUSE ME!
Beyond that, it’ll be the typical WWE experience for your rassler. Namely: forming alliances, taking a surprise flaming steel chair to the back when said alliance crumbles and forming your own rivalry along the way. I dig the idea behind this. The WWE games have had piss-poor takes on career modes in recent years, with most of these modes requiring you to perform as a pre-selected wrestler. That, and I can turn my custom creation into a heavyweight champ.
I call him Daddy Warbucks, a rich and educated man of the world is better than all of those other commoners in the locker room. His finishing move? The Harumph. And there ain’t no getting back up from that, I tell ya what. It’ll break ya in half. WWE 2K15 is out on old-gen on October 28. The prettier new-gen edition, is out on November 21.

Unrelated to this, but a small little rant from me:
Dear Lazygamer staff and cabbages,
I do love your gaming news and articles, BUT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY AND UNHOLY SORT YOUR WEBSITE OUT. The freaking thing looks like it went through a tumble dryer and it is really starting to get under my skin.
Sincerely

After the reviews and some videos on this mode come out, I will pick it up. But ONLY if the career mode is worth it. Whoever at LG reviews this – make the effort to properly explore the career mode please 🙂
