Gamingtarget.com has put together an article investigating the quality and quantity of exclusive original downloadable content.
The Wii is not counted as all of its downloadable games have been released on home consoles before…
So it becomes a battle between Xbox 360 and PS3… To jog your memory do you remember Peter Dille of Sony saying
Whereas our competition takes a bunch of old content and catalogs content from previous generations and offers that in a download fashion, our development organization are making games specifically for PS3
So lets rack them up.
XBLA
45 Released Titles
20 having a metacritic score of 75 or better
16 confirmed for release
PSN
11 Released Titles
2 having a metacritic score of 75 or better
12 confirmed for release.
All the information is through the link, as an side note the best scoring game received a 86/100 and that was Geometry Wars.

One Year Vs Two, thats all I ahve to say.
Comparrisons like this shouldnt even be allowed.
Both Machines are ace and now give the PS3 a chance to catch up to the Xbox

Abe I agree, but the reason why Sony gets this sort of press is because of the silly quotes that their execs keep coming out with… Which is why I included it… Also remember that in a year it will then be 2 years vs 3… The PS3 needs to do something to catch up else it will always be chasing

I find it amusing how that site chooses always chooses the rules to ensure that the 360 will win. A game that also appears on the PC is not an exclusive!
If you take away all the hoary old shareware, the XBLA list suddenly looks much shorter. Those Pop-Cap games can be played easily on any ancient PC and most of them are pretty old, getting only the most cursory of makeovers for the 360.
They should be excluded if retro PS1 games on the PSN and NES/N64 games on the Nintendo VC don’t count. That said, XBLA is a great service, especially considering how infrequent the updates on the EU PSN are.

Super Stardust HD is better than Geo Wars, in my opinion, and I LOVE GEO WARS!

This is why I love metacritic… Everyone has their personal favourite but when you gather all the opinions and marks together then you can’t really argue.
I am bitterly dissappointed about Boom Boom Rockets score as I thoroughly enjoy that game…

PSN eclipsing XBLA for downloadable games? http://www.gamesradar.com/gb/xbox360/game/news/article.jsp?releaseId=20060321132945404017&articleId=20070906122436250024§ionId=1006
Guess we won’t be seeing that as a headline story on this site tho.
