I am not excited about these avatars, to me it just looks like a “me too” move from Microsoft and I would have preferred them to use their time and money on something more exciting.
But they are coming and there is nothing I can do to stop that so let’s take a look at what we will be getting.
The video above is a quick demo from the Major on how to customise your avatar and how to get them to express emotion… be still my beating heart…
Now if only I could customise my avatar with a chainsaw and bottle of beer.

Probably the most pointless update ever IMHO…

I’m more psyched about the other stuff like conference chat in the dashboard instead of going into a game.

8 player conference chat = 🙂
And to be honest, a more ‘end user friendly’ interface.
Marketplace is drowning under its own success.

Yeah, the conference chat really took a while to arrive, huh? 🙂 About time, I say.

i like the new avatars. I just hope that the XBLA developers make use of it. So many games have a “create your own character” section which you have to waste a good 10-15 minutes on, startup and play and your customised character is there.
I wouldn’t really call it a Mii-too after seeing that vid. I think it’s alot closer to the character creator in the Sims.
