Xbox UI turns itself into a stop motion experience

I quite enjoy a  decent stop motion video. It always impresses me that someone has taken so much time and energy to reproduce what is essentially really low frame rate video. But when it’s done well and with the perfect music you get something like this.

But unfortunately the latest news around stop motion isn’t as interesting or entertaining as this.

According to multiple reports on twitter, reddit and gaming websites the Xbox One UI has an issue where it starts to become a stop motion experience all by itself.

Apparently this is related to the known Xbox One memory dump issue that can also get in the way of you playing your games.

If your Xbox One dashboard starts resembling a flipbook drawing with stop motion jumps then you need to hard reset your console. Hold the power button down for 10 seconds and force the cold reboot.

To avoid this happening you should go into your power settings and change the mode to power saver mode so that when you turn the console off it doesn’t go into standby but rather does a full shutdown. Be warned though this will stop the consoles ability to boot up instantly and via voice.
