Man, my whole day so far has been about resolutions. Aaaaaanyway, even though I’ll be putting my preorder down for the Xbox One in a few weeks, I have to admit that the PS4 has some damn good-lookin’ games. Like Killzone Shadow Fall, which looks so fantastic in person, that a streaming service can’t do it any proper justice.
The PS Blog has released the following file for Killzone Shadow Fall, in order to show off that high definition. Oh, warning to the bandwidth-impaired: It clocks in at 541 megabytes for a minute of multiplayer gameplay. From the mouth of Playstation:
In order to properly demonstrate the framerate and resolution we achieve in Shadow Fall’s multiplayer, we’ve captured and lightly compressed new footage that we’re not offering through a video sharing service. Instead, we ask that you download and locally view the high-resolution, uncompressed footage directly from from us.
The footage for download above is for the map “The Park”. And yes, before you ask, this footage runs at full 1080p and 60 frames per second, right in your face. It’s a launch title for the PS4, in case you haven’t decided which game you’re going for if you buy one of those consoles.
