Some days you just want to break stuff, and despite what Limp Bizkit was preaching, you’re not going to be able to get away with some random violence. What does help vent those frustrations however, are fighting games. One of the finest such entries in that genre is easily Injustice: Gods Among Us. and it’s getting a sequel.
Over at the DC All Access Wondercon Panel, video games were the order of the day. Warner Bros Interactive already has Batman: Arkham Knight on the way, a game which they showed off with an exclusive convention-only trailer.
Naturally, folks are excited for that game. Word was, that Arkham Knight would be a 2015 game, but it appears that the info was incorrect. The big bad bat will be here in 2014, but he’ll also be popping up in 2015, in the fighting game sequel from NetherRealm Studios.
According to Furious Fanboys, you can blame bad acoustics on the info mix-up:
DC showed the Blur Studios’ CG trailer for Arkham Knight, which earned a lot of cheers and applause. It was pretty loud, so you can’t blame someone for not hearing what came next, but it wasn’t an Arkham Knight delay.
While people were applauding and cheering, they specifically say that Batman: Arkham Knight would be released later this year. After that statement is what most people didn’t hear, and they said to prepare for the return of Injustice. The “not a 2014 title” statement applied to the new Injustice, not the Batman sequel. No other details about the new Injustice, such as who is developing it, was revealed but it is apparently on the way…just not this year.
Missed out on Injustice? Then you’ve missed out on a great genre entry. Developed by the chaps over at Mortal Kombat, Injustice felt like a mix between that franchise and Street Fighter, with a heaping dose of new ideas and destructible environments added in for good measure.
The game sold well, created a solid online community and is pretty much an EVO fixture now, as it was designed for competitive gamers. Injustice also released some solid DLC along the way, expanding the universe of a Superman gone rogue.
A sequel is about as obvious as a Leon Schuster joke, and with a Batman vs Superman movie on the way, one that could easily tie into that film universe as well. With Injustice having hit all the platforms possible, I’m keen to see what a proper new-gen version can do.

yeah that’s why I did it, not sure if it was bc it was a gold member price or not (I forgot but think it was) but I bought injustice for 9.99 and batman arkham asylum for 4.99 (which should be that price anyway considering it came out in like 2008 I think lol) I did enjoy the story as did I enjoy the mortal kombat story as well. I can’t wait till they do do a sequel just hope they do a current gen and next gen version lol

meaning if you have xbox live gold they do price cuts at times and I just checked I think the deal is over. I raised my eyebrow so high at the prices my eyebrow cramped. I am a loyal customer of them but since January they’ve been seeing a bit less of me. I will still buy new games from them using the preorder discount and trade in methods but R800 is a lot of money.

That seems to be the par for the course for now. New SP games is so expensive that you either have to wait for specials or stick to a MMO or online game to keep you busy. I still have Planetside so I’ll stick to that.

I really feel fighting games need a great story for each character. Might be time consuming to create a full fledged story for each character, but at least there is something to look into apart from constant round after round battles.

The first one was awesome, I very much look forward to this. I hope there’s new characters, like Blue Beetle and Red Tornado. (Or a DLC of Young Justice TV show characters).
