A long long time ago, 2 days to be precise, Zoe posted an article announcing that Sony had allowed the trademark for The Last Guardian to lapse in America and we really all felt this was the final nail in the coffin of the joke that is The Last Guardian.
But no, according to Sony that was just a bit of an oopsie and The Last Guardian is still very much in development. What is even funnier, for those who have given up on the game, is that this isn’t even the first time Sony has allowed this trademark to lapse as it apparently also lapsed back in 2012.
Videogamer reached out to Sony France and SCEE and both have categorically stated that the game is still very much in development but there are no current updates on the game.
So
The game that you know will never live up to expectations and will have no chance of commercial success is still being flogged.
Depressing isn’t it?

Either release it… Or kill it! Seriously! I don’t understand what could cause it to be delayed so long – the gameplay vids that leaked as far back as 2010 looked really good… What changed?!
Whatever releases with this name won’t actually be “The Last Guardian”… It’ll be ACM and DNF (lol – didn’t realise that the acronym for Duke Nukem Forever is kinda fitting for that game! 😉 ) in a ‘The Last Guardian’ skin. And it’s a real shame…
