Conclusion:

Interestingly enough, Killzone 3 manages to do an awfully spectacular job at proving just how mediocre Killzone 2 was, especially when put in direct comparison.

Killzone 3 is a fluid and fun single and multi-player shooter wrapped into a very high-quality, fully-powered console experience. It doesn’t do anything new for the genre, but it manages to do everything it should be doing with precision and style.

Guerrilla Games have done a fantastic job of polishing the good bits, fixing the bad bits and even adding in some new bits to create the Killzone experience that Playstation 3 fans always wanted.

Scoring:

Gameplay: 9.0

A solid shooter that manages to feel responsive and smooth while still maintaining the heavier feeling that made the franchise stick out in the first place.

Design and Presentation: 9.8

Breathtaking visuals, great sound and beautiful art design nails Killzone 3 down as one of those games that you will want to show-off to all of your friends when they come over to visit.

Value: 9.0

A short but highly enjoyable single player campaign. Those that have online connectivity are in for weeks and months of online mayhem. A fantastic package overall, just a shame about the lack of online co-op.

Overall: 9.5

If you have a Playstation 3 and like shooters, you should own Killzone 3, it’s as simple as that. Highly recommended.
