Madworld: First Review

I am happy to admit that it appears I was completely wrong. I stated a little while back that Madworld is most probably going to be a huge flop as it became obvious that the violence and gore were not quite what we were originally expecting.

However the developers have found a sweet spot and according to the first review that I have stumbled across the game is absolutely awesome. Scoring a magnificent 9/10.

It doesn’t seem to have much of a lasting appeal as it only scored a 7 for that section and even more surprisingly it scored a 9.5 for the presentation and graphics. Seriously now it’s black and white on a Nintendo Wii how great can that be?

On the other hand the game is also praised for its depth of gameplay and epic boss fights.

I have to admit that I am still very wary of this game but this review has convinced me that I need to give it a go…

I can’t say that I thought it was going to be a flop, since the approach is pretty unique. Though I don’t think it’s going to reach the level of success that many originally thought. Once the novelty wears off, it probably won’t see much action (hence only scoring a 7 for lasting appeal).

And of course, just because IGN gave it a 9.0, it doesn’t mean it won’t still be a flop for you, personally, and others. 🙂
