I actually groaned when I saw this headline coming up this morning, while I have always enjoyed Flamebait postings I am just to tired for this one today. It’s the end of the year and I want to go to bed now… but It’s a biggie and thus cannot be ignored so onto the comparison. Now the last couple of …

I don’t know about you but this week seems to be taking forever, I am not sure if it’s the excess workload or the fact that Gears is being released tomorrow though. Either way you deserve to take 4 minutes and 46 seconds off right now so grab yourself a cup of coffee and meditate the gamers way. By listening …

Battlefield: Worse Company, Army of Four, Dead Space 2 Announced

By Nick De Bruyne

DeadSpace2.jpg Ok, so I made those first two names up. The news is however true, EA's Frank Gibeau told Variety that EA is planning sequels to all Battlefield: Bad Company, Army of Two and Dead Space. Whether or not Army of Two's sequel will actually look at implementing more playable characters is still a mystery and on that same note, some 4 player co-op for the next Bad Company wouldn't be bad either. On a side note, Xbox360Fanboy has reported that Dead Space novels and toys are currently being mulled over, so we may see some cool stuff coming soon.

Dead Space Death Montage: Warning!

By Nick De Bruyne

Warning: Not only does this video contain spoilers but it is massively gruesome as well As you all know, Dead Space is going to be released locally this Friday. The game has already been out for nearly a week abroad and someone has put together a death montage video showing the many different ways that you can get incredibly dead. As the warning states above, there are spoilers in this video as well as some hectically violent scenes, so if you are squeamish then I recommend you leave it alone. After watching this video, I started to wonder if canceling my order wouldn't be such a bad idea because I'm not that great with scary games and this ones looks like on hell of a trouser browning device.

Take A Deep Breath – It all starts on Friday

By Nick De Bruyne

Are you ready ladies and gentlemen? This Friday will be the start of what is arguably going to be the best summer of gaming that we have ever seen. You can start getting excited because Friday's line-up is looking so good already that it's crazy to think that so many more huge titles will still be coming out afterwards. More gaming goodness and information on upcoming titles, after the jump. Go check Metacritic and you will see that all three of those are receiving high eighties, with Far Cry 2 getting an 87/100 at the time of writing and both Fable 2 and Dead Space weighing in at 89/100. Midnight Club: Los Angeles has also raked in an 85/100 so far, putting it higher than I initially expected. We will also see the likes of Bioshock and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift coming our way, so all in all there is already an absolute ton of titles coming out to destroy our wallets and wear out our credit cards. Get ready folks because from Friday onwards, it's going to be a mad house. Check out our local release schedule by clicking here.

Dead Space looking better on the PS3?

By Nick De Bruyne

Now I know that a lot of you are sick and tired of the whole video comparison story but as you may know, we have reported on this topic quite a lot in the past. We cannot embed this video, so you will need to watch it by clicking here. The Eurogamer comparison tests have resulted in the Xbox 360 coming out on top in almost every comparison so far but I think that things may be different this time around. A comparison video has been put up on videogamer.com, showing the differences between the Xbox 360 and PS3 version and I personally feel that the PS3 one is definitely the better looking of the two. While clarity, textures and framerate seemed identical it looks a little washed on the Xbox 360 and whether or not this is due to the comparison setup is a mystery for now. If this video accurate however, the PS3 is the winner in my opinion. Am I going blind or do you think I am right? Leave your comments below. I usually wouldn't mind washed out looks but with a game that falls so heavily onto it's atmosphere, the more contrasted look of the PS3 version will definitely do much better to make me wet my pants.

Dead Space destroys Silent Hill

By Nick De Bruyne

Taking a look at the Metacritic scores for the two big survival horror releases this quarter, it is undoubtedly obvious that the Silent Hill franchise is in a spot of trouble. While hardcore fans of the series still linger on the good old days of Silent Hill 2, they are now left with very little to quench their thirst for another Silent Hill title that could match its quality. Enter Dead Space. While I have personally only seen small amounts of footage from this game and pretty much know very little about its story and gameplay mechanics, it is fantastic to see that there is a new cowboy in town that is willing to take on the the big boys at their own game. A quick glance at the scores on Metacritic reveal that Dead Space has raked in a current average of 88/100, while the new Silent Hill title, Homecoming , has only mustered up a measly, yet relatively decent 73/100. Has the Silent Hill franchise seen its glory days come and go already? With strong titles like Dead Space joining the fray and the remarkable looking Resident Evil 5 coming next year, one must wonder if Silent Hill will ever be able to pull itself back out of the deep hole that it has been digging for quite some time now. Could Homecoming be the last Silent Hill title that we will ever see?
