Gears of War 2 – Launch Trailer

By Gavin Mannion

There is a new Gears of War 2 trailer out and it gives us a bit more insight into the story that will be Gears of War 2. However, I don’t like it… it seems false and yes I understand the absurdity of calling a video game trailer false but it doesn’t change the fact that it does. This isn’t …

So yesterday we spoke about how well the LittleBigPlanet reviews are doing and it was only on Monday that we mentioned that Gears 2 was also receiving high praise from all over the Internet. Well today (actually yesterday) is Resistance 2’s turn with the first full review being published by IGN and with the reviewer summing it up nicely with …

This latest developer diary from Epic doesn't really focus on anything specific but rather talks about a lot of the different aspects that make up the game. They also discuss the fans and the media as well as what they are doing to try improve the game as well as attract new audiences. Just a week and a bit left till the destruction begins and these videos aren't helping to make the wait go quicker.

New Gears of War 2 TV Spot

By Nick De Bruyne

A new TV spot for Gears of War 2 aired today in the United States titled "Last Day". Keeping with the feeling of the Mad World trailer that was released for the original Gears of War, the trailer plays out with sombre tunes and muted tones, the beginning really is quite lovely. It's obvious that by now the hype for Gears of War 2 has reached a mad height. Xbox Live friends lists are sitting chock and block with people all playing the original Gears of War again so that they can brush up on their skills or only just because they need to play the closest thing that they can find to the sequel. It's time has nearly come. November 7th draws nearer and all we can do is wait. It's a good thing so many good games are coming out today, they will help ease the pain.

Gears of War 2 may or may not be releasing in Japan. Huh?

By Nick De Bruyne

Reports have been going around the internet saying that according to EDGE magazine, Gears of War 2 will not only not be released in Germany but will not see the light of day in Japan either. The report caused much confusion because the first Gears of War sold well in Japan and even made it into the sales charts on it's opening weekend and no reasons had been given for why it would be kept out of Japan. We all know why Germany isn't getting it. It's because if a German citizen sees violence they turn into zombies that eat all of the neighbours kittens and the mess is truly a sight to behold. We all know that Japanese people are immune to becoming zombies because of the (Y12/7 +43ab - 7) chromosomes in their blood. So why aren't they getting it? More after the jump. Well an update has now been posted saying that Microsoft is not entirely happy with what they said and that apparently no mention has been made of the release plans for Japan. Does that mean Japan is getting it after all? Err, well, no it doesn't but it does at least give hope to all the Japanese 360 owners who want to play it (latest reports show that there are now more that 8, thanks to recent sales).

Driver gets caught with 100 copies of Gears of War 2/Fable 2

By Nick De Bruyne

Rthief.gifodney Gray, a driver for a security firm that makes, packages and distributes game discs, was stopped by detectives for an apparent mountain of driving offenses after they saw him leaving his room with a red carpet bag. You can guess from the title what they found. Not only that but when they searched his room, they found even more. Destructoid reports that: "Rodney Gray was pulled over by detectives after they spotted him leaving his room with a red carpet bag. Gray ironically worked in security for Technicolor, a firm which packages, produces, stores and distributes game discs. When the reckless roadster was stopped, he was found with 31 of these discs in his bag. The cops went back to Gray's room, where they found more games and DVDs that had been liberated from Technicolor, including copies of Gears of War 2 and Fable 2. The would-be criminal kingpin quickly broke down and admitted that he'd been going nicking from work and was selling the discs on." Naughty, naughty Rodney, your little money making scheme on the side finally blew up in his face. Does anyone else think that the security division may need to hire some security?

Gears of War 2 Multiplayer Vids Popping Up on the Net

By Nick De Bruyne

Firstly, I want to apologise for the horrible 'gangsta' music that is overlayed on the beginning of this video, it goes away after a while. Right then, as we all know, Gears of War 2 was leaked last week, meaning that many low-life's have been able to get their hands on the game before release. It was only a matter of time until videos made their way onto the net. Piracy aside, the game itself is looking amazing. The graphic are now running a lot smoother than in the E3 code that we played and for all of you that were still wondering about bots, these videos are 100% confirmation that they have in fact made it into the final version. There are 3 videos in total, i will post the other 2 after the jump and just so you know, the bots in this version above seemed to be set to a higher difficulty than the ones in the other 2. Now, shouldn't these guys profiles be banned or something?

Gears of War 2 and Far Cry 2 Leaked. A sad day for gaming.

By Nick De Bruyne

far-cry-broken-release.jpg You know... this is starting to get out of hand. Just last week I reported that Fallout 3 had already been leaked out onto the internet and now, Far Cry 2 and Gears of War 2 have joined them. The image above is actually from what seems to be a Gamestop manager and is not linked directly to the leaked games. (read more about them below). How does it feel to know that a whole group of pirate scumbags are already playing the games that you have been waiting for for so long. To make it worse, the leaching bastards didn't even pay for them. More after the jump. What kind of idiot gets a copy of a game and then actually dedicates some of his time to ripping it and uploading it to the internet. It has been reported that Gamestop managers had already received their copies of the game and now this happens. If it isn't this then it's game reviewers. Before we know it, sites like us are only going to receive review copies of games AFTER their release dates to stop idiots like that from getting it out onto the net, either that or they will need to start adding some sort of system and/or unique ID onto review copies to stop people from leaking games. Interestingly enough, it seems to be the Xbox 360 games leaking and not the PC ones. We all have to stand together and realise that we are only damaging ourselves. If you can't afford the game then you can't play it and that's that. There is a reason that we don't all drive Italian sports cars.
