Olga Kurylenko stars as a highly-trained French soldier who, after a disastrous tour in war-torn Syria has left her suffering from PTSD, is transferred home and assigned to take part in an anti-terrorism operation, Operation Sentinel, in Nice. Her fragile sense of peace is shattered when, after a night out on the town together, her younger sister is found brutally beaten and raped. She vows to make the man responsible pay, but he’s the untouchable son of a powerful Russian oligarch, so she’ll need to bring all her skills and training to bear in order to avenge her sister.

Watch: Rowan Atkinson’s lack of British intelligence is back in Johnny English Strikes Again

Rowan Atkinson is a bona fide national treasure for Britain. The rubber-faced funnyman has incensed generations to riotous laughter with his on-screen comedic buffoonery. Oh, and he also made those two Johnny English movies. Well, three Johnny English movies, as we now have a trailer for a threequel titled Johnny English Strikes Again. The first Johnny English film, a James Bond …

This trailer for MOMENTUM will declare war on your senses

I really think there is a place for cliches in movies, with some using them as a kind of wink to the audience. Like The Expendables for instance (we don’t talk about the third installment that went full PG-13). There are also movies like Jurassic World that are more cheese than Trevor’s socks after a grueling walk to the local candy store, but …

Hope is a necessity in this trailer for Russell Crowe's THE WATER DIVINER

By Kervyn Cloete

For some reason (I suspect too much hayfever medication), the only thing I can remember about Gallipoli, the highly acclaimed 1981 World War I drama which I watched in History class at high school, is the image of a very young Mel Gibson running breakneck between the trenches as gunfire whizzed all around him. So much running. Now another Australian film starring another …

This new trailer for THE WATER DIVINER looks divine

If anything is to go by in this first trailer for The Water Diviner we are in for an emotional ride albiet a rather sentimental looking one (I am reminded of Australia in a few of the scenes). The story is set in 1919 during the First World War and follows a father’s journey to find his missing; presumed dead, sons. To be …

We review THE NOVEMBER MAN – Tired and generic "old man" spy thriller

By Kervyn Cloete

Thanks to Liam Neeson and the ever-dwindling male population of the Baltic region, the “old man kicking ass in Europe” genre is still in full swing. And like any popular and booming business, there will always be cheap knockoffs. Enter The November Man, veteran director Roger Donaldson’s stab at the not-quite-as-over-the-hill-as-people-thought spy thriller gig, which banks on audiences’ nostalgia for some Pierce …

This full trailer for THE NOVEMBER MAN used to have skills

We’ve come a long way with movie makeup and special effects, and we’ve finally reached the pinnacle of the art form with The November Man, a movie claiming to star Pierce Brosnan, but which anybody can see is just Liam Neeson made to look like Pierce Brosnan. Or is that Kevin Costner? Maybe Denzel Washington?! I really can’t keep track …

The effect of this trailer for THE NOVEMBER MAN is absolute

I may not be known for my psychic abilities, but I feel confident that I can magically work out exactly how the pitch meeting for Pierce Brosnan’s new action-thriller, The November Man, went down. There were probably a few execs sitting around a table, when one remarked that they had just watched Mamma Mia and was now wondering how they were going to …
