HTC One M9 official photos and specs leaked

I’m currently rocking an HTC One M8 – and it’s one of the better Android phones I’ve ever had my grubby paws on. It’s fast and fluid, and pretty damned stable – and it’s wrapped up in one of the best looking aluminium shells on the market. This Sunday, at the Mobile World Congress, HTC is set to unveil its new flagship, the M9. The cat may be out of the bag.

If there’s one bit of the phone that left people wanting more, it’s the low resolution camera on the back. Though the phone is perfectly capable of taking pretty exceptional photos, people took umbrage with the relative lack of available megapixels – because as far as the consumer is concerned, more is more. It’s no surprise then that the M9 will be packing a more substantial megapixel count this time: a 20 megapixel sensor featuring optical image stabilization.

As with most product refreshes, the insides will be getting a suitable spec-bump too, as earlier rumours suggested: a Qualcomm Snapdragon Octacore 810 CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz, 3GB of RAM and a respectable 32GB of internal storage.

It looks a heck of a lot like the M8, which is just fine and dandy by me, as the M8 is one sexy device. What I’m most excited to see though is the new iteration of HTC’s Sense; one of the few manufacturer’s UI overhauls that doesn’t feel like it’s riddled with unnecessary bloatware. As you’d expect the M9 will be released with Android Lollipop as standard.

It seems rather nice – but not really worth upgrading to if you’re already in possession of an M8. If you’re in the market for a new phone though, the M9 is sure to impress.
