More lawsuits being levelled at EA for Battlefield 4

Why did you lie to us?

The latter part of this year has brought us some oddities in the gaming industry. First up we had that Ashes game being recalled after release for being absolutely garbage and now we have investors suing EA Games over alleged lies about Battlefield 4.

As posted on GameInformer

“Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP have cited a precipitous drop in share value and charges that EA and some officers have violated the Securities Exchange Act. The complaint focuses on statements that assert the strength of Battlefield 4.”

It’s quite incredible that a second game has been released that is obviously not ready for the market. However instead of pulling the game from shelves EA are attempting to patch it and are downplaying the problems.

Unfortunately the investors aren’t sold and with EA’s share price dropping 28% this year already you can see why they aren’t happy.

Whether or not the investors win their case or not isn’t the biggest problem for EA right now. Rather, the main issue is that investors are losing confidence in the company as are gamers and with Titan Fall expected to be the next great game coming out of the EA stables this is the worst time for the company to go through turmoil.

If investors pull their money the financial stress on the Titan Fall development will become immense and could lead to the game being released early to try and recoup some of the development costs. If the game is released in the same state as Battlefield 4 it could be the end of EA games as a going concern.

Oh EA… You were once a titan yourself. But, alas, that ship has sailed. Just get the job done properly – no-one wants half-assed releases! If you need extra development time, take it – it’ll cause far less pain in the long run than simply just releasing a gooey mess. I’ve played BF4 and I must say – I prefer BF3… And I ain’t the only one. Just because it’s pretty, doesn’t mean it’s better.

P.S. Oh and EA – don’t mess with Bioware’s development cycles! I’m warning you… If you do, you’ll make me angry… And you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry…

Well as I say – I just preferred BF3. It was more… fun! To me the mechanics were more solid, I never experienced any crashes and, to me, the AI in the SP even seemed more challenging. I’m not saying BF4 is terrible – I haven’t played it enough to make that kinda statement. Just that, from what I’ve experienced so far, I prefer its predecessor. 🙂

That’s the thing I’m thinking. On PS3 multiplayer was up to shit most times but on Ps4 I have played four different online games(excluding BF) and only had minor issues every hour or so.

I’ve crashed a few times (BF4 on PS4) and strangely enough… always when I was in party chat and trying to play large Conquest (64 player). There was a patch yesterday, so I’m keen to see if it did anything – although today, I’m enjoying warframe.

Then there’s also the SP save corruption bug. Hopefully that’s also been dealt with. Even though I finished it on PS3, I wouldn’t mind experiencing it on PS4, so down the line, I would like to play through the campaign again, but the bug makes me weary.

Now obviously the usual xbox trolls will be quick to say “waah waah ps4 bug bug”, but sadly, even the xbone version is a bug-filled, crashing mess. EA screwed up royally, from PC all the way to the bone.

I don’t want to see EA go down. Mostly because they employ so many people that it would devastate the livelihoods of many many families. I hope EA can pull through but I also hope that this is a serious wake-up call for the guys in the suits who control what EA does.

Already lost faith in EA. I’m not buying Premium this time. China rising is a big pile of horse shit and now with the flickering and textures not loading in BF4 I’ve lost it. Suggesting i play with 1 card is not an option. Titanfall shouldn’t be an EA game. Respawn entertainment must rather not work for EA they must go to some other company that actually care about the gaming community and not money. I guess people that bought BF4 won’t buy TITANfall and I will warn many people against EA games. They used to be good but now they’ve lost it. I’m actually pissed at people that bought BF4 Premium cause people should learn by now. Don’t just buy everything for a specific game. Rather wait and see how it goes then you buy something. I was thinking maybe I should buy it once the second assault expansion comes out but No thank you. EA already done to much damage. so fuck you EA AKA Electronic Assholes

Somehow I cant get myself to give a crap about them. Also they must have realized that when EA launched their refund policy that they were going to end up losing at least a little here and there?
