Michael Fassbender takes aim on JANE'S GOT A GUN

First of all, no this is not a movie about that Aerosmith song. Jane not Janie. Clear? OK, moving on then.

There seems to be nothing that Michael Fassbender can’t do. He’s been a Roman Centurion, a Spartan, a megalomaniac mutant,  an Allies spy, a famed intellectual, a cyborg and of course, a sex addicted human tripod. And now he’s looking to add gunslinger to that list as well.

One of the coveted annual Black List scripts, Jane’s Got a Gun will see We Need To Talk About Kevin’s Lynne Ramsey directing Natalie “Black Swan” Portman in the title role as a woman whose outlaw husband is betrayed by his dastardly crew and given a hefty dose of lead poisoning before being left to die. Unfortunately for them, the husband manages to make it home with all their gang secrets, where his wife tries to nurse him back from death’s door. So when his old buddies return to finish the job, she decides to take matters into her own hands and calls on a fast shooting ex-lover to help her defend her homestead and her husband.

Vulture is reporting that Fassbender is currently busy in negotiations for role of the old flame with the itchy trigger finger. There’s no word yet on the casting of the unfortunate husband.

The film is set to shoot early next year, bu I’m guessing that the specifics of the timetable would revolve around Fassbender as he is currently busy filming Ridley Scott’s Cormac McCarthy penned thriller, The Counsellor, and still has the X-Men: First Class sequel also scheduled for the beginning of next year.
