This second trailer for TAKEN 2 is not a game!

With all the Superman and Batman talk around here lately, it would be easy to forget that there’s still another big superhero movie coming out soon: Taken 2. Wait, what do you mean you don’t think Liam Neeson is a superhero? The guy punches wolves in the face for fun!

And just to remind us of how much of a global superpower he is, a new trailer has been released for the film.

The first minute of the new trailer is essentially the same footage we’ve seen in the earlier trailer and clips, but the last half is all new. And all badass.

With these extra scenes we start to get a bit of a better look at the action that Olivier Megaton is bringing to the table. So far, I’m liking what I’m seeing as he seems to be mimicking Taken director’s Pierre More’s less flashy style.

And while I’m still not sold on Maggie Grace as an action star, that payoff line at the end gave me chills, because you just know that that was not a threat, it was a cold statement of fact. You simply do not trifle with Bryan Mills or he will kill your entire family tree.

Synopsis:

Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.

    Can’t wait!!

  • You know, I didn’t realise his daughter was that woman from Lost until I watched Lockout…

The trailer is nice, but I’m still cautious.

Also, I don’t think Neeson ever actually punches a wolf in The Grey… but he is one helluva shot. Speaking of which, why does he have an entire suitcase of arms with him in this movie? Considering the trouble it would take to get that across borders, seems a tad overkill for a family vacation…

    • Well, the wolf-punching is implied quite heavily. Why else strap broken bottles to your knuckles?

      • Because you are about to get raped by the alpha male of a rabid wolf pack?
