Disney have released a new trailer for the sea rescue drama – The Finest Hours, and it looks epic!

The movie is based on the true story of a massive rescue attempt from 1952 after an oil tanker is split in half during a massive storm, leaving more than 30 of the ship’s crew on-board and fearing for there lives. A Coast Guard captain played by Chris Pine embarks on what is considered the greatest small-boat rescue in the sea service’s history.


The movie is directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl, Fright Night) and was penned by Scott Silver, Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson. Joining Pine is an impressive line up of stars in Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz and Eric Bana.

That trailer looks intense and must be viewed at the IMAX to get the full dramatic experience when The Finest Hours releases on 29 January 2016.
