The Nintendo Wii is not a console short on periphery. Strange then, that Nintendo have felt it necessary to grace us with yet another Wii add-on peripheral, this time in the form of “the “Classic Controller Pro”

Incredibly similar to the original classic controller, the pro version increases spacing between the thumbsticks, added two more shoulder buttons and includes added grips for support – essentially turning it in to a Playstation controller.

Whilst there is no word on pricing or availability outside of Japan as yet, you can expect the Classic Controller Pro to be found collecting dust in a cupboard near you soon.

Editor. I’m old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time – they were capable of being masterpieces. I’m here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.

About time they changed the controller, I used to get cramp in my thumbs from using that poorly designed junk. With my Xbox controller my fingers and thumbs are very happy now.

Why didn’t they just use the Wavebird for heaven’s sake?
