Win3DSXL

This week sees the release of Nintendo’s new supersized version of its glasses-free 3D handheld, and you could be some of the first people to play on one. Better yet – you could even win one for yourself.

All you have to do is pitch up at any of the events – being held in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town, show off your Mario Kart 7 skills, and you could walk away with a decidedly matte new 3DS XL. We’ll be at the Johannesburg event,  causing trouble by asking people awkward questions and generally being a nuisance, looking for JHB’s laziest gamer. If you’re too lazy to even make it to the event, then you probably deserve to win – but you won’t.

The Nintendo 3DS XL event will be held at Cafe Culture in Fourways (near Montecasino) on the 28th of July and it will start at 11am, and run through until about 2 pm. If you’d like to join us – and maybe even leave with your own new 3DSXL, all you have to do is  fill in this registration form and we’ll see you there. In addition to the Mario Kart tournament, you’ll also get a chance to get up close and personal with the 3DSXL.

The 3DSXL sports an increased screen size, a bigger battery, and wont collect all your fingerprints.

On that note; we’ve managed to get our greasy paws on a 3DSXL – so if there are any questions you may have about the device, feel free to ask.

Editor. I’m old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time – they were capable of being masterpieces. I’m here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
