2017 is almost over, and I’ve got a feeling that 2018 is going to be the year that finally delivers a Spider-Man game that isn’t godawful. The last couple of years haven’t been kind to the wallcrawler, with games that were sometimes uninspired, other times middling and more often than not a combination of the two.
Next year, Sunset Overdrive’s Insomniac takes a stab at giving the wallcrawler a new lease on life. On paper, it sounds perfect: A studio known for energetic and radical games getting the chance to develop some massive fan-love for the webhead in their own particular style. With Spider-Man Homecoming proving that there’s still plenty of love out there for the iconic New York hero, the time to strike the iron is now.
