Monday Box Office Report

It was the best of time, it was the blurst of times, an – Wait, what? Stupid monkey, your typing is as bad as the recent profits from the past weekend at the box office!
It’s one thing for a movie or two to bomb at the box office, but this weekend was an exception, as the entire top ten experienced a rather dismal performance. Factoring in for the top 12 alone, and the box office was a bust, making only $51.9 million combined, barely beating the record set in 2008, of $50.3 million.
Thanks to two new releases that weren’t exactly compelling viewing, a new school year starting and something involving rugby but with padding, the weekend tallies were dissapointing to say the least.
Here’s a look at who barely made what this past weekend.
  • The Possession – $9.5 Million
  • Lawless – $6 Million
  • The Words – $5 Million
  • The Expendables 2 – $4.7 Million
  • The Bourne Legacy – $4 Million
  • ParaNorman – $3.8 Million
  • The odd life of Timothy Green – $3.6 Million
  • The Campaign – $3.5 Million
  • The Dark Knight Rises – $3.285 Million
  • 2016 Obama’s America – $3.281 Million
