It was another quiet week at the North American box office this past weekend, despite the debut of fish and zombies in 3D. Resident Evil Retribution and a re-release of Finding Nemo took the top spots over that week, but which one was at number one?
For some reason, the idea of seeing Milla Jovovich in skin-tight leather clothing was kind of appealing, netting the latest Paul Anderson directed Resident Evil movie the top spot. Go figure. As for everyone else, here’s a look at who made what:
  • Resident Evil Retribution – $21 million
  • Finding Nemo 3D – $17.5 million
  • The Possession – $5.8 million
  • Lawless – $4.2 million
  • ParaNorman – $3.09 million
  • The Expendables 2 – $3 million
  • The Words – $2.88 million
  • The Bourne Legacy – $2.87 million
  • The odd life of Timothy Green – $2.5 million
  • The Campaign – $2.4 million

The Master also saw a very limited release, finishing up in 18th place and grabbing over $700 000 in cash, while Richard Gere’s hedge fund film Arbitrage splashed in at 12th place, making just over $2 million.
