Without a doubt, The Dark Knight Returns Part One was the best Batman movie of the year. Sorry Christopher Nolan, but you know this as well as we do. Faithful, energetic and never skipping a beat, it’s one of the best animated efforts that DC has put out so far from a stellar list of direct to DVD films.
And it’s only half the tale of the final battle that Batman has ahead of him. Part two is out next year, and it’s finally got an official release date, as well as some snazzy new art for the disc cover.
Part 2 will be released internationally on January 29 next yeat, and will see the return of Peter Weller as the caped crusader, as it picks up from the first film.
One last battle with a “cured” Joker, a police force attempting to hunt down the Batman and the Oval Office sending in a certain Man of Steel to finally put an end to the Gotham vigilante, is what awaits Bruce Wayne next year. And here’s that cover art that I promised.
If Warner Bros can keep up the pace with the second film, expect something magical.

Quite possibly my most anticipated movie of 2013. Part 1 was just amazing.
