And your Razzie 2013 "winners" are…

Ah, the Razzies. Pretty much the only awards show that I’m genuinely interested in. Held every year a few nights before the Oscars, the Razzies celebrates the very worst that Hollywood has to offer. It’s been a yearly tradition for decades now, and the 2013 edition saw plenty of bad movies get a golden raspberry.

Here’s a look at the losers for this year. It’s mostly Twilight by the way.

Yep, the final Twilight film took most of the dishonours, seven of them to be exact. Scooping awards for worst director, picture, actress and actor for the piece of wood that stood in for Taylor Lautner, the final film in that saga got a hammering of note.

Adam Sandler was once again on the receiving end of a Razzie for his work in That’s my biy, while Rihanna got served with worst supporting actress. Bomm. Here’s the rest of the “winners” from that night;

  1. I know Twilight is not really the critic’s darling. But let’s be honest: Was it really worse than Ghost Rider 2? And why isn’t the Nik Cage crapfest on there?

      Much has been written about my dislike of the Twilight franchise 🙂 but in this I agree with you. There were way worse offenders than Breaking Dawn Part 2. This reeked of bandwagonning.

      I’m still a lone supporter for Ghost Rider 2, which I think was panned far too hard. I’m kinda glad it didn’t ‘win’ any of these categories. That said, the overwhelming Twilight wins seems unfair. For one, I think Liam Neeson ought to have gotten a Razzie for even agreeing to appear in the Titans sequel or Battleship…

      On the other hand, Twilight deserves ire for its needless split. Harry Potter did that right, Twilight didn’t…

        I agree on the twilight split. But then again, milking the audience is the in thing to do these days.
        I disagree on the GR2 though. Honestly, i felt it was uninspired tripe, but i do not want to fight over personal taste. I on the other hand quite enjoyed battleship, really…

          Battleship, for all its flaws, gave us a ship doing a handbrake turn.
