Extras-bullet-points-micro3 JAWHN CONNOAH COME MIT ME IF YOU VANT TO LIV! The only problem with that quote? There are way too many John Connors to choose from right now. Add Jason Clarke to that growing list, as it looks like the Zero Dark Thirty star will be leading mankind in the fight against the courier service rogue military AI Skynet in Terminator: Genesis.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 And now for something completely different. There aren’t too many modern day comedians who can stand tall next to comedy legends Monty Python, but the former knights who say Ni reckon that Simon Pegg can join the group.

Or at least his voice can. Pegg will be vocalising on Absolutely Anything, which sees the former Pythons head off into space, a sci-fi adventure that’ll be directed by Terry Jones and also star Robin Williams.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 Movie monsters. They’re big, mean and pretty much have a taste for blood, particularly yours. But what if we got to know the more sensitive side of this killers? That’s a disturbing question that Erika Deoudes answered with these pin-ups of the horror icons. Which really doesn’t explain all that well why Kervyn has plastered all over his walls.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 Prepare to be teabagged in the next Hunger Games! Or more precisely, prepare to meet Robert Knepper, who’ll be portraying a brand new character in the third film Mockingjay, that goes by the name of Antonius. Deadline describes his character as a minister serving under Donald Sutherland’s President Snow, and possibly also the shrink who treated Katniss

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 Here’s your first look at Robert Downy Jr and Robert Duvall in The Judge, which unfortunately is not a Dredd 3D sequel. Directed by David “Wedding Crashers” Dobkin, the film has Downey in the lead role “who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town’s judge (Duvall), is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before”.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 If you’re a regular on YouTube, you might have been witness to Judgement Day AKA the day when that video sharing service implemented some strict new copyright protection software that has seen dozens of prominent YouTube personalities hit with takedown notices, thus depriving them of income.

Naturally, folks are downright pissed off, especially now that its been revealed that YouTube is going to walk away with a staggering $5.6 billion in profit this year.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 I’m totally in love with Netflix at the moment, thanks to the solid content that it offers via an all you can watch buffet. The streaming giant has more content on the way soon, and it looks like the next show from that stable is BoJack Horseman, a 12 episode animations series which stars the voice of Will Arnett as a humanoid horse who has to deal with various crisis’s every week.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 Iron Man 3 had plenty of technology that culminated in the mother of all house parties, but not every piece of Stark Tech made it into that film. Comic Book Movie catalogued all that ingenious genius, which also included some of the gadgets that Stark made when he was six. Which puts my Lego creations to shame.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 The latest X-Men film isn’t even out until next year, and we’ve already got news that a sequel is on the way. There’s no clue yet as to which direction X-Men: Apocalypse will go in, but we do know one thing. James McAvoy will return as Charles Xavier in at least one future X-Men film, thanks to the mutant power of contractual obligations.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 Ever wondered how exactly director Irvin Kershner plotted out that iconic asteroid chase scene in The Empire Strikes back, way before animatics were the norm. Well thanks to a little bit of YouTube magic, some revived storyboards and a side by side comparison, you can now see Han Solo shift first and drift the Millenium Falcon through that cool sequence.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 Superman Lives could have been of the greatest Superman films ever made, for all the wrong reasons. Least of which the decision to cast Nicolas Cage as the hero, and have him fight a gigantic spider while Tim Burton directed and wished that he had an actor whose name rhymed with Schmonny Mepp to make an appearance.

According to Cage, his role as Kal-El would have been pretty gutsy, and that was something that made Warner Bros nervous:

Look, I’m not going to be one of these guys that’s going to be, like, lamenting things. But is Tim Burton one of my favourite directors? Yes. Did I see some of the drawings of where he wanted to go? Yes. And I will tell you, they were fantastic and it would have been a mind-blowing experience. Did I have a concept of how to play the character? Yes, and I can tell you it would have been gutsy. So maybe Warner Brothers got scared because they had two artists that weren’t afraid to take chances.

Look, the truth is I’m not obsessed with comics. I don’t read comics as a 49-year-old man. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but I have other interests that are more in tune with where I’m at right now. But I’m loyal and I will never forget the impressions that comics gave me as a child. They are like primitive cartoons and those characters became like a modern mythology that’s touched the world. So animated movies are like cousins to comics.

Extras-bullet-points-micro3 And to end today off, we’re taking another look at Professor X. Or to be precise, the Pete Holmes version. He’s been on a roll lately, cleaning mansion and getting rid of plenty of second-stringer mutants such as Gambit, Jubilee and Iceman. His next victim? The weather controlling Storm, who isn’t getting a pink slip, but she is getting some blackmail.

Professor Xavier, whose secondary mutation is to be an unbearable asshole.
