Yesterday, thanks to two pics, we got our first look at the new Peanuts movie, based on Charles Schulz’s timeless comic strip. We also heard from producers Craig Schulz (Charles’ son) and Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat), as well as director Steve Martino (Horton Hears a Who, Ice Age: Continental Drift), who all told us true to the spirit and vision of the much beloved original strip and cartoon TV specials.
But as we all know, Hollywood is full of truth-benders so we need to see this for ourselves. Luckily, the film’s first teaser trailer has just released, giving us an opportunity to do just that.
For the first time ever, Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang we know and love from Charles Schulz’s timeless “Peanuts” comic strip will be making their big-screen debut; like they’ve never been seen before in a CG-animated feature film in 3D.
That may not tell us anything about the story direction of the movie, but I have to admit that I’m already loving what I’m seeing. The animation appears to be a pitch perfect amalgamation of modern CG creations and Schulz’s trademark squiggly line art. All of a sudden, I’m really excited to see more.
Unfortunately, I’ll be waiting a while as Peanuts is set to arrive in theatres on November 6, 2015.
