You’ll get our full review for the masterful Arrival later in the week, but here’s a spoiler: It’s incredible. And one of the best parts of the production is lead Amy Adams. It was while watching Adams doing her thing in that movie that the thought struck me, how incredible it was that this five-time Oscar nominated actress was once stuck in the doldrums of ditzy rom-coms. Luckily, those days are long behind us, and Adams just keeps going from strength to dramatic strength.

And the latest example of her incredible thespian chops is Nocturnal Animals, which also stars Jake Gyllenaal – you know, that guy that started playing weirdos in oddball comedies and is now a serious powerhouse actor. Hey, talk about a perfect pairing! The film, a supremely tense and twisting thriller, is the hotly touted new production from director Tom Ford (A Single Man), and has already been declared as one of the best movies of 2016 by most people who have seen it, with tons of praise being leveled at the two leads as well as their co-stars Michael Shannon and Aaron Taylor-Johns.

Just what it’s about though… Well, apparently, the less you know about it the better, and luckily the folks cutting the trailer for Nocturnal Animals seemed to have got that memo. A new trailer has dropped which gives you good idea of the tone and basic premise of the film, but reportedly keeps all the film’s many twists and turns firmly under wraps.

Check it out below.

Nocturnal Animals also stars Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer, Laura Linney, Andrea Riseborough, Michael Sheen, and Jena Malone. It is scheduled for limited release in America on November 17. No word on a local release date.
