We all knew this was going to be the case but I doubt anyone actually predicted that Cyberpunk 2077 would be this massive. CD Projekt Red’s new role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 is finally in the hands of the consumer and people are playing the hell out of it. Specifically, there are 1,000,297 people playing it on Steam at the moment which is utterly absurd. To put that into context for you, the previous record for most concurrent players at launch on Steam belonged to Fallout 4 and that was only sitting at 472,962. Fallout 4 was a pretty huge launch five years ago but this is just… well, it’s breathtaking.

The scary thing is that number’s not reflective of the actual number of people playing. Steam is only a fraction of the actual playerbase given the amount of systems and software the game has released on. It’s not taking into account people playing on GOG, Epic Games, GeForce Now and a horde of consoles, both new and last generation. It’s even on Stadia, which doesn’t actually mean all that much but you could toss in an extra player or two if you wanted to take that demographic into account.

This number has set the record for launch concurrence but it still has a long way to go before it overthrows the game that holds the overall most concurrent players. That would be PUBG, sitting pretty at 3,257,248. Having said that, with all of the aforementioned systems, Cyberpunk 2077 has probably beaten out those records. I’m sure CDPR will release some stats in the coming days so that they can release the 18th trailer for the game.

Numbers not that surprising considering the hype. I wonder how many of those reported bugs are fixed? Have it downloaded and was going to start playing this evening but wondering if waiting at least a week or two is not perhaps better.

Played for 2 hours this morning. didn’t experience any bugs except the tree popping thing, but then again I have ignored the last 2 Nvidia and from what I understand that will fix it

Fingers crossed then. I’ll likely give it a bash and if I encounter too many bugs for my liking I’ll just stop playing and then wait.

I’ve put 13 hours into the game since launch… from 4PM launch it took me about 8 mins to unpack/patch the game and get into it. Spent roughly half an hour as a break from the game.

It’s an emotional rollercoaster that first act.. and I want more. It’s been at least a decade if not more since I’ve no lifed a game so hard. It’s everything I expected and so much more.

Bug wise I came across two game breaking bugs which one fixed itself on a reload of the save, and another which was kind of expected (don’t run a full inventory otherwise you might lose given items during a cutscene) other than those two I’ve seen some minor bugs, along with the crazy jackie handgun head bug during a cutscene.. otherwise it’s been rather smooth thus far.

And to prove I’ve actually spent that much time – https://steamcommunity.com/id/Q-Division/

It’s called having a stable platform on which to play games on. Just because someone owns a PC- there’s no telling how well they maintain their system’s performance.
Mind you CP2077 still requires some optimization to get some much needed stability but from everything I’ve experienced thus far (50 Hours plus as of writing this) this game wasn’t meant to be played on older gen hardware whatsoever.

The 1.04 patch from yesterday added a lot of stability to framerate- especially in some parts of NC now feel much more clearer than before. I’ve noticed a framerate increase since the patch, but there are still some places of NC that will murder your fps regardless how good of a machine you have. I personally rate the game at a 9.25/10 which I know will change once some quality of life improvements from mods change some bad choices CDPR left in inventory management.

Runs fine enough now albeit clearly poorly optimized. it’s the coding not the PC’s lol someone was running it on a insanely good rig and still crashed constantly on youtube… fucking brand new. Atleast they are slowly fixing their stuff with patches I suppose. I mean the game rating will go up once it actually becomes stable and runs for everyone, now that its running on mine albeit at waaaay under the settings I should be able to run it. It’s allot better gameplay wise.
