Your wallet is empty, your feet have blisters and your body odour is most likely strong enough to knock a donkey over. Yep, sounds like another rAge weekend has come and gone. I had a blast this year, running around in my Ghostbuster outfit. But hells bells, there was some damn good cosplay on display.
The standard is definitely going up each and every year. But so are the numbers of entrants, as this year was as chaotic as ever. Originally, entrants had a schedule for judging, but that soon gave way to a first come, first serve format.
One other aspect that also needs to be addressed, but this is more of a typical rAge issue, is sound. Specifically the fact that entrants standing next to the stage could barely hear anything, with the gathered cosplayers needing to shout along instructions to one another to keep the show going.
And I’m also kind of peeved that Noelle “Pfangirl” Adams did not win anything for her amazing Tomb Raider outfit. Seriously, photos don’t do it justice. And I’m not saying this because I hugged her and got an arrow in my face.
But otherwise, it was a solid show. Everyone was in character, friendly and more than willing to pose for photos no matter where they were. And a bigger stage at rAge really helped show off the talent that our cosplay community has.
Hell, I was so damn sad that I didn’t have my batsuit with me when Arkham SA’s Joker took to the stage, my favourite performance by far. And of course, what’s cosplay without Deadpool? Or several of them? You can never have too much Deadpool!
I’ll be back next year with something else, as the rAge cosplay is quickly becoming my favourite tradition. See you all in 364 more days!

Man, this RAGE was boring… Seeing and playing something on PS4 was pretty much why I went, and after seeing the console(so sexy), and playing some Knack and AC4 on PS4, I got bored quickly..
I was one of the first people in on Saturday morning, an got a nice seat to watch the DICE guys chat about BF4 and Frostbite 3…. They never showed… I sat 30 min for nothing. ><
Except for a person here and there in the crowds I didn't really notice the cosplay, so I can't comment on that.

October 7, 2013 at 10:34
Agreed!
Rage was boring, I saw Knack and Assasins Creed BF on PS4…. lol…where were the titles people are actually interested in? No Titanfall, No Destiny, No Killzone Shadowfall, No The division, I was was sad.
It was packed though, it felt claustrophobic and a bit chaotic.
I was glad to see Cosplayers for a change, so thumbs up there, but overall I guess I was expecting something more.

I think the more popular it gets and the more coverage it gets, the more huge companies would pull in… Or am I mistaken?
Sageville
October 7, 2013 at 10:44
Sure, Though I’m not sure how much more popular it can get, it was packed when I went, I was in a queue that went over the highway, right up to the actual car park. I would assume that if the Dome was packed that implies the event is popular.

I actually had a chat with the Piracy Sucks-dudes a couple of years ago. They had some pirated hardware, such as Dual Shock 2 controllers and PS2 memory cards, which was interesting to see. I’m not talking about about a ripped-off and rebranded PS2 controller, it was sold as a genuine Sony product. Also talked to them about how to identify pirated hardware. That was quite interesting, but overall, I think they are wasting their time.

That’s how I felt last year. I gave it a skip this year. I’m still convinced they should move venue to a bigger place. Somewhere where we have open outside spaces. and split that LAN area from the main show floor.
Just my opinion.

We were first in line at the Xbox One station for Forza on Friday (best day to go IMO because I hate people without cleavage). Second for Sons of Rome. Walked past the PS area and didn’t see anything that drew me in. Got some nice Limited edition stuff from BT Games. All in all we were there for longer than last year, even considering there were less people and no queuing compared to last year when the schools were still on vacation.
A good rAge for us, but I think PS4 missed a great opportunity to grab the undecided people. They needed MUCH more at this rAge so they could get a jump-start on the console wars – was disappointed in their effort.
Next year, with all the new titled for the new generation available, I expect rAge to be EPIC!

Pu-239 is produced artificially in nuclear reactors when a neutron is absorbed by U-238, forming U-239, which then decays in a rapid two-step process into Pu-239. It can then be separated from the uranium in a nuclear reprocessing plant. I just went a few more steps back so I can mass produce the stuff. 🙂

As this was my 1st time at rAge, I really enjoyed is. Loved the cosplay.
I wasn’t planning on going due to it being end of the money and plenty of month left. But then my brother wanted me to take him and his friend so my mom paid for tickets, food and fuel. If I had more time to plan, I would have cosplayed as well.
Definately going again next year and I am going to cosplay.
Just sad that I missed the Meetup because I had to babysit my brother and his friend 😛
