Well well well, looks like MS Canada have managed to upstage the US in the price cutting department.

TORONTO, ON — Aug. 7, 2007 — Microsoft Corp. today kicked off the greatest holiday lineup in video game history by announcing it will reduce the Canadian retail price of Xbox 360â„¢ by $100 (CDN) beginning Aug. 8 at Canadian retailers nationwide.
The new pricing for Canada is as follows, Core drops to $299, Premium drops to $399, Elite to $499 and the Halo® 3 Special Edition Console comes in at $449.99.
