Upcoming global Zombie pic World War Z hasn’t had the easiest time since it started development, having to overcome numerous hurdles in order to be realised.
The Marc Foster-directed flick finished up principal photography a while back already, but it seems that Foster and his main star, Brad Pitt, are going to have to head back to the wastelands and get some reshoots done.
According to The Daily Mail Pitt is headed back to Budapest, for 13 weeks of reshoots. The film has already had its release date shifted from December this year, to June next year, and this seems to be probable reason why.
Whether Pitt will be joined by his co-stars, Matthew Fox, Mireille Enos, and James Badge Dale, is unclear at this point. It’s never really a good sign when a film needs such an extensive period for reshoots, as something is clearly wrong with the current project, that demands this to happen.
Still, hopefully the reshoots can get World War Z back on track, as it joins GI Joe Retaliation and 47 Ronin in the delayed list of blockbuster films.
Based on Max Brooks’ best-selling novel “World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War,” the story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

13 weeks of reshoots? That cannot be good at all. That a major star as Pitt was mobilised to give another three months to the project tells me there is a problem here…

I actually wonder how long a normal movie takes to shoot (not edit etc) because surely you can get most movies done in under 13 weeks?

Yes, that’s a good point. 13 weeks is practically a new movie…
