Ninjak 101 – Meet Valiant’s secret agent super-ninja

Ninjak (2) (2)

Ninjas are cool. Period. There’s nothing more awesome than a stealthy warrior of the night, an assassin dressed in black and armed with all manner of lethal tools. According to history, ninjas were a figment of Michael Dudikoff’s imagination and never ever existed. According to nine-year old Darryn, History is a poo-poo face and it can shut its tongue-hole up if it knows what’s good for it.

What’s cooler than a ninja then? Secret agents are equally cool. As are superheroes. So what happens when you combine all three into one character? You get Ninjak, Valiant’s most lethal human alive and the upcoming star of Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe.

Never hard of him? That’s the point of Ninjak ironically enough, but here’s a dossier on the British shinobi to get you up to speed ahead of the trailer drop on Monday:

Origins

Ninjak (1)

Meet Colin King, heir to the King fortune and living it up in the lap of luxury. Which kind of sucks, because Colin wants more out of life and hates the fact that his parents are secret agents for MI6 who leave him alone in the mansion regularly with a butler who may be less than caring for the boy. Alain may have been Colin’s caretaker, but he was also a brutal teacher who taught the young boy a few harsh lessons in looking out for oneself.

He also might have been Colin’s biological father, but that’s a story for another time. Anyway, crap childhood and learning to be his own man eventually resulted in Colin emancipating himself from his parents once he was old enough to do so, striking out and joining MI-6 along the way. Colin’s early days as a spy ended in disaster when his handler and secret romantic interest Angelina Alcott was killed by the terrorist Xaman.

Ninjak (1) (3)

Looking for some sweet revenge, Colin and his new handler Neville (Angelina’s actual husband) tracked Xaman down to the temple of the Undead Monk, where Colin spent the next few years learning martial arts and how to control every single nerve in his own body as he prepared to kill Xaman. Colin eventually succeeded, got kicked out of the Himilayan monastery and he returned to MI-6.

The British spy agency had a new programme that it had begun, outfitting operatives with cutting edge technology and information as they sent their ninjas out into the world to preserve the status quo. Colin was the latest agent to be given ninja status, his designation being Ninja-K. Thus, Ninjak was born as Colin made use of MI6 and his inherited fortune to become the most dangerous man alive in the Valiant Universe.

Powers

Ninjak (3) (2)

While under the wordless tutelage of the Undead Monk, Ninjak’s ability to connect his mind with every single nerve and cell of his body was unlocked. With complete control over his physical being, Colin has access to the following gifts:

  • Regenerative healing factor – Able to heal far quicker than a normal human, Ninjak has even survived months of exposure to the elements as he reconfigured his body back to optimal condition after he had his spine broken
  • Poison immunity – Ninjak can resist most poisons, having developed an immunity after eating various toxins daily during his time at the hidden monastery
  • Increased lifespan – While Ninjak is far from immortal, his mastery over his body will see his lifespan increased by decades as was foretold in the Book of Geomancers when he eventually falls in battle a century from now

Skills

Ninjak (3)

After rigorous training under the Undead Monk, Ninjak is in peak physical condition and boasts the following Olympic-level skills

  • Peak human agility
  • Peak human reflexes
  • Peak human speed
  • Peak human strength
  • Peak human endurance
  • Hand-to-hand combatant/Martial arts mastery
  • Stealth mastery
  • Weapons specialist mastery
  • Genius-level intelligence mastery

Basically, Ninjak rolled 20 on all of his stats.

    Weapons and equipment

    Ninjak (1) (2)

If it can be used to kill a person, then Ninjak is a master with it. Thanks to his peak human conditioning and quick thinking, Ninjak has proven to be a master of shurikens, swords and just about anything else that requires you to be above the age of 18 to own. With his connections at MI6 and his family wealth, Ninjak has increased his arsenal to ludicrous levels and always carries a wide selection of tools and weapons within him at given time.

Without his equipment, Ninjak is still one of the deadliest humans alive. With it? He’s a walking extinction event for anyone foolhardy enough to cross his path:

    • Bullet-proof and flame-resistant Hex suit
    • Smart boots and gloves
    • Built-in Augmented Reality scanner for instant information downloads on targets
    • Mini-photo reflectors
    • Mini-drones
    • Augmented Reality contact lenses
    • Flashbang shurikens
    • Explosive shurikens
    • Tranquiliser shurikens
    • Wire shurikens
    • Ultra-High frequency Tri-Silk alloy super metal katana
    • Knockout gas
    • Multi-tools
