Dark Souls 3 to be announced at E3?

Dark Souls II

E3 is only a couple weeks away and all the rumours are flying. We don’t have long to wait for all to be revealed, but it’s still fun to see the speculation as studios spring more leaks than Julian Assange could manage. While we all assumed that we’d get some new information out of From Software, a new leak implies it might be a complete new game.

According to sources close to VG247, we can expect to hear about Dark Souls 3 during Sony’s E3 press conference on the evening of Monday, 15 June 2015.

In news guaranteed to delight fans of the series, Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls and Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki is again heading the team.

While I’m not totally surprised to hear this leak, it certainly makes me happy to hear the news. Dark Souls was an impressive game, and if From Software could take what it learned with Bloodborne to make a better Dark Souls game, fans would be over the moon. There is still so much to explore in Dark Souls lore.

However, I doubt that we’ll really hear about Dark Souls 3. We already know that there will be Bloodborne expansions coming soon – surely we’ll hear more about that rather than an all new game? Perhaps there’s time for From Software to do both, but I think they’d be wiser to focus on one franchise at a time, especially during E3.

Would Dark Souls news make you happy, or are you still hung up on Bloodborne?

Dark remaster = PC version with Dsfix (up the resolution and 60 fps unlock).

I’m almost tempted to say they should just abandon Dark Souls and give us more Bloodborne.

This would make my head explode. While I think the graphics and level design are better and more consistent in Bloodborne, for me Dark Souls 2 is still the best From game. Would be really over the moon if this turns out to be true.

    Greetings…!
Another overpriced demo looking down from it’s monolithic “Youtublicity” on the web? Please, such games are the product of: the dire state of the gaming industry, “Youtublicity” and a robust payroll. I’ll pass.
    …Best of Regards…
