Warner Bros has officially announced that Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel sequel will now called Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Cue the outrage from the internet.

Moving on from that announcement, the new poster and logo for the film was also revealed. Check it out:

Filming kicks off soon in Detroit for the sequel, which is still two years away. Here’s the official press release to go with the title and poster announcement, because I’m running low on bat-gadgets and bat-tea in order to spice this story up:

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from “Man of Steel,” Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”is written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

Principal photography will take place on location at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit, Michigan; Illinois; Africa; and the South Pacific.

Set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.

Besides the Vs becoming a V, I’m ok with this title. After all, it could have been worse. I mean, who would watch Batman Vs Superman: The Phantom Menace?

  1. Is it just me or does the title look a little cheap?

I mean the writing looks like someone photoshopped it in last minute. Just me?

I don’t understand why the ‘Dawn of Justice’ subtitle isn’t properly centred. Makes it all look really unbalanced and weird.

If you ask me the logo that made an appearance in I Am Legend looked much better.

Agreed… It’s the same principle but it doesn’t look like it was based off of a 12 year old’s drawing O_o

Very clunky title if you ask me, but I guess Justice League (beta) was out of the question.

Best thing about this news though is the fact that Chris Terrio’s rewrite of David S. Goyer’s screenplay draft appears to have been substantial enough to gain him full writing credit. I feel a lot happier with the guy who wrote Argo taking the reins on this.
