Filming is underway right now on Guardians of the Galaxy, a film which will most likely be a special effects orgy that will leave several post production teams in suicide mode once they go into crunch time. Not everything needs to be a dazzling special effect though, as some real world locations can easily double for a sci-fi prop.
And nothing says outer space alien architecture like some British architecture covered in Piccadilly bird poop.
Here’s a first look at some of the citizens in Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as some of the Nova Corp members. And no io9, that’s not Glenn Close underneath all that make-up. It’s probably Meg Ryan when she doesn’t moisturize. I’m liking the look of the Nova Corp so far. That’s definitely the bottom rung of the Galactic police force, the footsoldiers on the ground who aren’t really allowed to wield the Nova Prime power that higher ranking members such as Richard Ryder possess. The helmet is a great design, and I’m liking how the symbol is incorporated.
The following pics from Coming Soon show off one scene from the film that is now shooting, as cast members are most likely paying tribute to Benny Hill and running up and down the London Millenium Bridge.
Guardians of the Galaxy is out next year August, and stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Djimon Honsou. Glenn Close and John C. Reilly. James Gunn directs.
End credits extra bonus: Here’s a two second GIF of Rocket Raccoon.
