While my money is still on fairy tales to once again dominate the movie industry, much like what Twilight did for the supernatural romance genre, I’ve got a feeling that storming the White House is going to take a close second in this new celluloid race.
The first of two new movies dealing with the Oval office under attack, Olympus has fallen, is out soon. And with a trailer and some TV spots so far, it’s time for some snazzy picture reinforcements, straight from Coming Soon.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, Olympus Has Fallen stars Gerard Butler as disgraced Presidential guard Mike Banning, who happens to find himself inside the White House when a super-terrorist played by Rick Yune takes control of the building. With the president in danger, and the fate of the world resting in the hands of a maniac, it’s up to Banning save the day.
Presumably by shooting as many people as possible. It’s out locally on April 12, and also stars Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Dylan McDermott, Ashley Judd and Melissa Leo.

Mmm, wasn’t there another movie along similar lines. With Sandra Bollocks and someone else?
