Paul Rudd has turned himself into an unlikely movie star with a pretty impressive resume of hit movies and memorable characters along his career. For me he isn’t the first person you would think of when it comes to romantic leading men or action stars, usually floating somewhere in between with a healthy dose of quirky comedy. That being said, he is definitely one of Hollywood’s most likeable and well-loved stars, stealing the hearts of countless ladies in Clueless, showing the world what a bromance looks like in I Love You Man and following in the footsteps of Chris Pratt by getting ripped and setting himself up as an action hero in Ant-Man.

The guy can do it all, and now he can be seen wearing his drama pants in the upcoming Netflix movie, The Fundamentals Of Caring. Based on the novel by Jonathan Evison and written, directed and produced by Rob Burnett, the story follows Ben, a retired writer who becomes a caregiver after suffering a personal tragedy. Soon Ben meets his first client, Trevor (no relation to our own Trevor), a foul-mouthed 18-year-old with muscular dystrophy. Ben and Trevor take an impromptu road trip to all the places Trevor has become obsessed with, including their holy grail: the World’s Deepest Pit. Along the way, they pick up a sassy runaway and a mother-to-be who help test the pair’s survival skills outside of their calculated existence as they come to understand the importance of hope and true friendship.

Based on that preview this looks to be a fantastic movie with some heartfelt performances and what could be the role that will make the world take Selena Gomez serious as an upcoming actress. What are your thoughts?

The Fundamentals of Caring stars Paul Rudd, Craig Roberts, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Ehle, Megan Ferguson and Frederick Weller and is set for release on Netflix on 24 June 2016.
