jurassic2

Well, clearly EVERYBODY went to see Jurassic World this weekend past. And I was one of them, checking it out for the second time on IMAX and enjoying it even more than the first time as a great big thrill ride. Similarly, Nick also thought that the flick had its problems with undeveloped characters and few script issues, but overall just delivered big time on the type of fist-pumping fun and edge of your seat action that would do Steven Spielberg’s original film proud, even if it doesn’t surpass it.

But what did you guys think of the flick? Did you have as much of a good time as we did returning to Isla Nublar? Or maybe you think that this park should rather have stayed closed? Well, sound off in the comments below and let us know!

And just a reminder: This is intended as a platform for people who have already watched the movie and want to discuss it. If you haven’t seen it, but still stick around and happen to come across a SPOILER, then don’t say we didn’t warn you!

  1. I found it enjoyable and I definitely dont regret seeing it, but HOLY CRAP it was cheesy. I cringed more than a few times at the lame human characters and the veliciraptor bromance. The premise is getting a bit tired i think.

I was fearing the worst when Owen Grady released the Raptors and they went off to catch the I-Rex…..was having images of Owen and the Raptors high 5’ing each other. Thank goodness it went the way it did though.

I went into this one with low expectations because, let’s be real, the last Jurassic sequel was a snooze-fest. Man oh man was this movie good. I am still in utter shock as to how much I enjoyed, no, loved it. Two critiques though: 1. It was not long enough. I could have at least gone on for another hour 😉 and 2. (which is probably the more important one) just because the kids fixed Gramp’s car, they were universal auto-techs on could fire up the Jeep? The rest of it was just too darn cool!

In the first movie, the 14year old girl could hack into the parks door-control system because she knows Unix systems. 🙂

The fact that she even knew about Unix understood the system was far more impressive.

All they really done was change the battery. Plus the older jeep engines aren’t exactly rocket science as they are very different from the engines today, so I wasn’t thrown by that one.

Absolutely loved it. It was everything I wanted and more. And more importantly it’s the first sequal that felt like a JP movie again. I loved the Lost World (fuck JP3) but this one just felt right.

I loved every second of it. Except maybe the pointless kids discussing their home situation scene. Talk about pointless.

it was good, but there were a few times that I had to just shut down my brain. It’s a good sequel, but doesn’t live up much to the original.

I watched it on an IMAX screen in 3D and was blown away. After the original 1993 Jurassic Park the next 2 movies left me uninspired and, honestly, not excited about heading on a 4th trip. But wow….I would watch another 4 if they were half as good as Jurassic World.
