There’s a kind of magic in the air right now. With Marvel waving a wand and apparating in a bag of cash thanks to Doctor Strange, DC is in a prime position to follow up on the love for sorcery that’s floating around right now. Particularly after the critical flop that was Batman: The Killing Joke, a film that we’re all looking to have erased from our minds right now.

While a handy Obliviate charm might not be feasible, at least we’ll have Justice League Dark! Starring the darker sider of the DCU, Justice League Dark finds Batman teaming up with Swamp Thing, John Constantine, Zatanna, Etrigan the Demon and Deadman to solve the growing appearance of demonic threats on our planet.

Here’s the latest trailer for it, via IGN:

Justice League Dark finds the world under attack from supernatural forces that prompts the Justice League’s Batman to seek aid from occult investigator John Constantine. Constantine forms a team of other supernatural superheroes — Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon — to help save the world.

Not bad! DC Animated films which lean towards more original stories can be a bit hit or miss, but I’m still keen to give it a go next year. Justice League Dark is aiming for an R-rating, so at least this flick isn’t holding back. As for the voice talent? You’ve got Matt Ryan reprising his role as the infamous John Constantine one more time, seeing as how his own TV series bit the bullet just as it was heating up.

Also joining him is Jeremy Davies as Richie, Enrico Colantoni as Felix Faust, Alfred Molina as Destiny, Roger R Cross as Swamp Thing, Jason O’Mara as Batman, Camilla Luddington as Zatanna, Ray Chase as Etrigan and Nicholas Turturro as Deadman. A character with the thickest Boston accent around. Clam chowdah!

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
