Kiss your Ice goodbye in this trailer for ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE

2 min read

The time is approaching for the next release in the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Collision Course and to further get people tired out excited about the movie, they’ve dropped another trailer. Ice Age is one of those franchises which is starting to get increasingly bizarre as they try and stretch out what was a great story to something that has become ludicrous. It would seem that there is just no more scope left for stories with our band of furry friends, but that hasn’t stopped Blue Sky Studios from trying – and if you see how each movie has continued to make increasing amounts of money, who can blame them (watch Ice Age movies in order):

  • Ice Age(2002) – Budget: $59 million, Global Box Office: $383.3 million
  • Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006) – Budget: $80 million, Global Box Office: $660.9 million
  • Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) – Budget: $90 million, Global Box Office: $886.7 million
  • Ice Age: Continental Drift(2012) – Budget: $95 million, Global Box Office: $877.2 million

So, the truth is, if you are sick and tired of taking your kids to see these films – stop taking them!!! If people continue to come, they will find ways of making more of them.

The trailer itself does not actually seem that bad, though you have to admit that Scrat aside, the gags are running out of steam. The film opens June 30th in South Africa – enough time to plan alternative arrangements to keep your kids away from this one.

Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age World. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, traveling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters. ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE, opening in theaters everywhere July 22, 2016, stars returning cast members Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes, and Jennifer Lopez.  Joining the herd are Stephanie Beatriz, Adam DeVine, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Max Greenfield, Jessie J, Nick Offerman, Melissa Rauch, Michael Strahan and Neil deGrasse Tyson.
