Easily one of the biggest hits in recent years, as well as a flagship show, Adventure Time helped Cartoon Network find their animation groove again when it debuted several years ago. A combination of mathmatical references, Dungeons & Dragons scenery, good ol-fashioned fantasy adventure and just plain trippy, the show has been a massive hit so far. And now it’s busting loose as it heads to the big screen.

Starring Finn the human and Jake the dog, Adventure Time  centers on the pair as they engage in various quests throughout the land of Ooo, after a great cataclysm devastated Earth and pretty much rewrote the laws of physics and sanity. According to Deadline, the film will be produced and written by creator Pendleton Ward, although a director has yet to be found. Chris McKay, who happens to be busy with a directing gig on The Lego Batman Movie, will also help produce the flick.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, then you’re in luck. There’s around a half-dozen seasons to catch up on, and experience the weirdness of Wizard Battle, the Earl of Lemongrab and Marceline the Vampire Queen. It’s as weird as can be, but the show has proven to be popular with both kids and adults, thanks to some sly hidden humour and quirky animation.

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
