Hey, it’s that time of year again! Hollywood’s awards season has kicked off with The Golden Globes and all the movie stars finally get to see if the decision to do that one critic-bait movie last year will pay off with accolades and praise.

If you haven’t watched The Golden Globes yet, you can catch up on all the winners from 2015 in Kervyn’s wrap up here. Some of the awards were fairly predictable, like Richard Linklater’s Boyhood getting three well-deserved awards, while others were a bit out of left field, like Amy Adams winning for Big Eyes.

Personally, I didn’t think How to Train Your Dragon 2 was deserving of a win, in my opinion it wasn’t as good as The Lego Movie, and Birdman didn’t get nearly as many awards as I thought it would. But what did you think of the winners? Was your favourite snubbed, or did the Hollywood Foreign Press Association get their choices right this year? And what could this all mean for The Oscars next month?

Birdman over The Grand Budapest Hotel

Jake Gyllenhaal over Eddie Redmayne (Haven’t seen The Theory of Everyting yet so probably not fair to judge)

Rosamund Pike over Julianne Moore (Again, Haven’t seen Still Alice yet)

The Loge Movie over HTTYD 2 (How the hell did that happen?)

Very Happy Trasparent won but who did Gina Rodriguez sleep with to win Best Actress for TV comedy?

so except for Gina and the Lego Movie not too bad.

All I know are the jokes I saw repeated on Imgur. The Interview comments seemed pretty funny.

But I gave up on all awards when Zero Dark Thirty lost to Argo for best picture.
