Civil-War-2

There are plenty of ways to win a war, from sneaky through to patience, but nothing ends a conflict sooner than by simply overpowering the opposition. It worked for Germany when they rolled on through France in a matter of weeks, the USA ended the Gulf War decisively with superior firepower and the WWE fielded untested genetic abominations in their feud with WCW in the early 2000s.

When you’ve got a superhero brouhaha brewing behind the scenes however, you’re looking at a different kind of firepower to bring to a battlefield. From futurists to super-soldiers, there’s no shortage of skill and ability in the Marvel Universe, something that both sides of the upcoming Civil War Part Deux conflict will want to shore up on for their eventual big-scale battle.

We already know that Civil War II will pit Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel against Tony “Iron Man” Stark, but who’s taking sides with them? Here’s the official rosters of the armies that they’ll be commanding. On Captain Marvel’s side and push for pre-crime justice that triggers a war for control over a mysterious being who can 100% predict the future, is:

Civil War (1)

  • Monica Rambeau
  • She-Hulk
  • Ant-Man
  • The Winter Soldier
  • Hawkeye
  • Blue Marvel
  • Medusa
  • Captain America (Steve Rogers)
  • The Vision
  • War Machine
  • Spider-Man

And on Iron Man’s side that favours punishment coming after the crime instead of just sending colourfully-attired heroes after random people for offences yet to be committed, is:

Civil War (2)

  • Black Widow
  • Deadpool
  • Captain America (Sam Wilson)
  • The Totally Awesome Hulk (Not a Bro Banner, but actually Amadeus Cho)
  • Hercules
  • Black Panther
  • Luke Cage
  • Thor (Jane Foster)
  • America Chavez
  • Star-Lord
  • Daredevil

That’s an interesting army on either side. Iron Man undoubtedly has more physical power thanks to the combination of an Olympian God, a man with unbreakable skin and some Gamma power, as well as a sneakier option with the likes of Daredevil and Black Widow. Captain Marvel has an army that sounds far more mobile and used to defeating overwhelming odds, as well as the tactical experience of the original Captain America and the Winter Soldier. Plus, her Alpha Flight team as well. Interesting.

Civil War II: Dawn of Just Fists arrives on shelves in May. In time for that little movie that you may have heard about.

So, I guess this means we get the next Civil War ‘reboot’ in three or four years.

Marvel is officially out of ideas.

I think the plan is that everyone gets a chance to fight Tony Starke… Civil War 3 will feature The Punisher taking on Iron Man…. no better yet… Namor vs Iron Man. No… Howard the Duck vs Iron Man… or maybe Iron Fist vs Iron Man

If it’s Howard the Duck vs Iron Man, I am sold.
