Raising a child prodigy is no picnic in this trailer for GIFTED

Gifted is the upcoming drama starring Chris Evans as a single man raising his niece – a child prodigy – and trying to give her a normal childhood. And here we’re stuck with Nick who’s… special.

The official plot synopsis is as follows:

Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a single man raising a child prodigy – his spirited young niece Mary (Mckenna Grace) in a coastal town in Florida. Frank’s plans for a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the seven-year-old’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank’s formidable mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan) whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary.

I’ll be damned if there’s not a single heart string this movie isn’t tugging on. What? No I’m not crying, I have allergies. YOU’RE CRYING!

Gifted is due for release in the US on 12 April 2017. Directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man), and written by Tom Flynn (Watch It), it stars Chris Evans, Mckenna Grace, Jenny Slate, Octavia Spencer and Lindsay Duncan.
