Bel Ami, a period drama starring Robert “I’m not a vampire” Pattinson and Uma “Wiggling toes” Thurman premieres at the Berlin International Film Festival today.

Based on the novel by French writer Guy de Maupassant, Bel Ami tells the tale of a young man’s rise to power in Paris, with numerous life lessons learnt along the way of course.

Bel Ami will see some strong competition however, with other debuts from Stephen Soderbergh’s Haywire, Nikolaj Arcel’s Danish epic A Royal Affair, Canadian drama Rebelle from director Kim Nguyen and French film Coming Home from Frederic Videau.

Bel Ami is directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, and stars Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott Thomas and Colm Meaney. Looks like another ho-hum film an-MY GOD LOOK HOW AWESOME THE HAT IS THAT THE VAMPIRE WEARS!
