It’s been a long four years for Judge Dredd. Ever since Sylvester Stallone rode into Mega City One on a wobbly fibreglass motorcycle and shouted “I AM…DER LAWR”, Hollywood hasn’t exactly been begging for a reboot.
But that apathy has come to end, because if early reports are anything to go by, Dredd 3D is one solid vehicle for action that dives headfirst into a dystopian future of drugs, fascism and violence. Here’s a look at how that world was shaped over the last couple of years.
Even though the majority of Dredd is set in the urban hellhole of the mega-flats of Peach Tress, there’s still quite a few locales seen in the film. Framestore and io9 got a look at the concept art for the film, which shows off the concrete jungle of Mega City One, the radiated outlands of the Cursed Earth, as well as some early looks at Dredd’s best friends, his Lawgiver pistol and Lawmaster motorcycle.
Dredd 3D is out this month, on the 28th.

I like the look of the Lawgiver bike. That was always going to be a hard one to translate from the comics and they seem to have done a good job.
