Is it perhaps a practical joke planned a little too far ahead, or a perfect day to honour the worst films in Hollywood? Who knows for sure, but one thing is for certain, the timing couldn’t be better.
The Razzies, that annual spoof of the Oscars that highlights the lowlights of the celluloid year that was is now set for April 1st, with a list of nominees to be made public on February 25, the day before the Oscars.“In addition to allowing the Razzies’ more than 600 voting members additional time to see the drek they will eventually nominate, this new schedule will also allow for more input from the movie-going public before the contenders are determined,” said a statement about the new date.
Voting is comprised of a selection of regular moviegoers, film professionals and journalists in the entertainment industry
The voters are comprised of regular moviegoers, film professionals and entertainment journalists. While no “winners” pitched up last year to receive their awards, previous years have seen big name stars such as Halle”Catwoman” Berry accept her prize, while Tom Green gave a legendary acceptance speech for his film, and guilty pleasure of mine, Freddy Got Fingered.
So who do you think deserves the Razzie for worst picture of 2011?
