Man, you guys really love your Game Of Thrones. It’s a show that I’ve never really got into, despite an effort to sit through an entire season. This must be how non-Whovians feel when I talk about Doctor Who then. The high budget stakes are still there to be seen in the latest trailer for Game Of Thrones, as the fifth season nears an April launch. This year, new cast members Alexander Siddig, Toby Sebastian, Nell Tiger Free, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Jessica Henwick, Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, DeObia Oparei, Jonathan Pryce, Hannah Waddingham, Enzo Cilenti, Michael Condron, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje join the show. Here’s another sneak peek at what’s to come.

Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues. It stretches from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues, to the vast and savage eastern lands, where a young queen raises an army. All the while, in the frozen north, an 800-foot wall of ice precariously protects the war-ravaged kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men…all play the ‘Game of Thrones.’ An original series based on George R.R. Martin’s best-selling ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series. Winter returns to HBO on April 12 at 9PM.

Alongside all the new cast members, series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are returning as executive producers and showrunners for Season five, which will be based mostly on the fourth and fifth novels from George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series, “A Feast for Crows” and “A Dance with Dragons.” And yes, I looked that information up specially, just so that I could be accurate. The things that I do for you guys.
